THE PAST 12 DAYS THRU MY EYES…
I’ve forgotten the movie so I don’t know how to credit the quote, but it struck me as interesting. A man is discussing a past love and the way she never fell for his lies. And, the woman with whom he is having the conversation casually observes:
“…She was one of those people who could see better in the dark…”
I can’t see in the dark. I can’t tell when someone is lying to me. But, I know the comfort of love and another kind of love which can only be given by a dog who knows no better than to to love all the time. …or, maybe I mistake her love for the burning interest in figuring out how she might eat me if I should fall and die. Hmmmm…. No, I don’t think that is what she is thinking when she licks me and wants to be held. It is love. Puppy love. 
…I was actually listening to a bit of great vinyl from the folks at Get Back Recordings by The Bill Evans Trio called “Time Remembered” …but I was too lazy to search for their LP cover. But, this is quite close as it is the same picture placed on the jacket of the LP:

I can tell when I am lying to someone, but I can’t tell if they can tell that I’m lying to them. Things look better in the dark anyway. Except that photo of the red bench. That photo would look even better mounted up in an art gallery somewhere! Nice eye!

Ingrid? My life partner is a chain smoker! No judgments here! Just ridicule and teasing! Don’t worry about it. B keeps saying he is going to quit — he even bought patches which remain unopened. Being around so many smokers — sometimes really makes me want to go back to smoking. Especially, right now when I am so stressed out and worried — but I fight the urge. Anyway, I forgive you. Now, that will be 18 Hail Barbra’s!

Joe! So very true on both counts! I was just explaining to this cute boy on the MUNI platform that he couldn’t just walk up to me, lick my face and try to hold me! I’m a married man!!!
…but, seriously, do you ever think that dogs are just trying to figure out how they might kill and eat us? I don’t know. just a thought. Bagel sure gets annoyed whenever I replace her dirty wee pads or fix the arrangement of her crate.

Gina! I think you’re right! I know, really, that the love I feel from Bagel is real and without condition. But, I think Bagel thinks I’m her mommmy. She seems to be needy with me but in love with B. I think she wants to marry B and me to be there when she is fed up and ready to pack it up and get away from the hubby. I’m more her mom than her hubby. sigh. Always the bridesmaid and never the bride!

I don’t see well in the dark. In fact, I’m afraid of it as of late. I sleep better during the day. But, no matter, it is hard for me to see a lie.

Thanks for not judging, and tell Ms. Bagel she can’t have your man! I do think she might consider eating you, just as anything that lives but refuses to speak is considering eating us. It’s so unfair!

Ing…Oh, I was only teasing — No, I should think that worshiping Barbra would be like being Catholic. The relief of guilt can only be fleeting.
Babs was the second highest grossing female recording artist of 2007! Beaten only by Madonna. Which I find so interesting as neither made an actual record for 2007. They both bring in the millions for their respective labels.
I’m so proud of Babs! Warner Bros must be shitting bricks over losing Madonna!

The best and worst time of my life I worked at a kennel. When my whole outside life felt like it was falling apart all I had to do was go to work to feel like I was loved. Dogs are really man’s best friend.
Bagel is a treasure, though it is quite possible she will eat your face clean off if you stumble and fall:)

Miss S — You’ve had such a varied and interesting work career! Yeah, but I somehow feel comforted by the fact that should I fall for good — Little Bagel will most likely take care of the rest — if given enough time. She is a tiny dog! But the face. Well, I figure she would have that covered.
