BAGEL’S FIRST TRIP TO THE OCEAN!
It was a long weekend and the weather was just about perfect. B leaves for Canada in a few days and my mother will be arriving on Tuesday to hang with me and Bagel (code for babysitting me while B is gone!) …Anyway, Bagel was looking particularly bored
— doing what we call The Bagel Carpet Pose for far too long. So, we decided it was time to take our Shih-Tzu to the ocean.
We were not sure how she would take to the sand, waves and other dogs — but it turns out she is a regular little beach bum. It was a lot of fun. However, she looked a bit like a dirty wet rat after about ten minutes. Bath time for Bagel that night was an Extended Event and we’re still trying to get some of the tangles out of the Princess’ hair!
I might continue to be “out of the cyber pocket” while my mom visits, but I shall return! Things are getting better, but it is a slow path. Seems like most are.

…she may be a wet rat, but she’s ours! …if only her Aunt Ing were a better mentor, Miss. Bagel might have conducted herself with a bit more decorum. …Or not. Hmmmm…

Hmmmmmmmm. Probably not. I went to Oakland today and met Miss S’s cat, and I was a very bad influence, jumping on the table and walking all over the dishes. If I were at the beach, I would have been quite sandy. And since I have no one to bathe me. . .

Ing! Well, I guess girls just want to have fun! You could have helped bathe Bagel! …when I do that, I get bathed as well. Unavoidable. Bagel enjoys being clean and pretty but she hates the process and drags us into the water and soap every time!
I’m worried about Miss S having a cat!

Steve! Wait. I thought you were in love with me! …so, it was Bagel you were after all along! I’m hurt! I’m sure she would love you, too. If she were to meet you. Tho, she does seem to just love everyone. …without condition. I think it is a thing dogs do. I think. Or, Bagel might just be a bit of a slut.

It’s so comforting to know that someone, somewhere in the world is on a beach with an adorable dog! Thanks for sharing the great pictures. The picture of Bagel on the floor sobbing is my favorite. With that face, how can you not spoil the pooch silly. It’s nice to see that you look very happy as well.

Gina! Yes! She finally got to get herself really dirty! LOL! She was (and is ) a very happy little doggie! We love her very much! YES! Every day should be spent at the beach!!!!

…sadly, we do suspect Bagel has slut-like behaviors. We just tend to avoid allowing her in situations where this can get her into trouble. If only I had had this sort of retraint(ings) when I was a young’n.

It is a slow path, isn’t it? Especially with all those weeds that are in the way, it’s hard to find the trail again. I know you’ll find those bread crumbs that you left for times like these. Have a good break from the blog world for awhile, but feel free to visit if you’re feeling blue or bored!

I love that last pic particularly. You look fabulous. Bagel looks bedragled. Sometimes the level of dirt and mess corresponds to the level of fun. Glad the little girl got to be all doggy at the beach.

Ooooh, thanks for reminding me of the Forrest Gump quote. I’ve only watched it once, so I don’t have the script memorized.
I like the multicolored condoms, but flavor is more important than color, and believe me, I have tasted a rainbow! Bagel is young yet, but she’ll learn.

Cool Old Cheeser! What hair?!!?? I wish I had hair to grow. No, it came down to a choice: hair cut or cologne? I opted for cologne — which means no hair cut for two months. Ugh! My scent is not cheap! …no matter what Ing says! Come to San Francisco and we will take your place! I’d much rather be in the UK than anywhere! I just know it!

Oh I love the beach! We live within 10 minutes of a beach that sits on the Pacific Ocean, fantastic cheap therapy on the doorstep. How wonderful to see your wee dog having a great time, bet she smelled salty sweet for ages!! I dunno if you ever visit my blog but there are photos of our beach if you get curious. That wee dog is soooo cute. We only have cats (well, my friend has a Guide dog so have dog-day-afternoons) at our house, they all volunteered to live with us i.e. turned up one day and never left. I think there is a sign somewhere pointing to our house with “soft touches” written on it! Take care,
