so, a friend emailed this picture to me as a joke but I rather like it! to me, it seems to be full of life, hope and fun! A good picture for the last day of 2005!

It has been an interesting year filled with some incredible lows but far more incredible highs! So many questions that need to be answered and journeys which need to be made! So much more life to live and explore. I felt a few desperate moments only to see the year end with one of the most thrilling experiences of my life at Christmas. Am still soaring from those 3 days of bliss — even if they do turn out to be of the “well, we’ll always have Paris” moments. I guess the point is, we did. And it was fucking awesome!

This was a year of major changes for me and it looks like the changes are continuing. It’s a great ride and I can’t wait to see what’s waiting ’round the corner! Fingers crossed that two of the things waiting are love and a good job!

I am living in a place that often seems magical to me. And, sometimes seems kind of cruel. But, hey — wasn’t it like that over the rainbow? I mean the scarecrow was great but those flying monkeys were such a pain in the ass! Still, one must be true to the heart and fight the power! Hmmmm… Well, I didn’t mean for that to come out quite so gay, but I hope you understand what I am trying to write/say.

Happy New Year — and live it for all it’s worth!

2006! Bring it on, baby!

One of the greatest challenges, for me, in creative writing is to show two aged people making love. I have often been tempted to express the complications in writing well, to show it’s not so simple-dimple, by using such a scene as an example, but I never did for the mild fear I could have been booted from teaching forever.

As happens, my section of creative writing for the coming semester was closed. That’s the monkeys flying down. There’s more for me to do with my evenings than teach…I figure.

Yeah! To impossible love in black and white. My next exercise, for myself…that scene. My current one involves a man on a bus. That’s all I’ll say except that he is thinking about you-know.

Here’s to getting out more! To finding love! To finding the job of all positions!

PS: Have you seen ‘Dog Days’?

ginab — funny what is considered “controversial” isn’t it? You know I think I’ve seen several films called “Dog Days” —- which one? Am all curious!!!

Tommy and Gator — Happy, happy New Years!!!

Dog Days is Austrian, shot by Urlich somebody, directed, 2001. The ‘actors’ were not actors, astonishing, and ‘dog days’ required filming only when the temps were 98F. Here’s a URL for some information:

So I have linked to both of your sites. Thank you for the nomination…and by all means, Happy New Year dove.

For the record, the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)” should be 18 minutes long. No lyrics on the ‘best of’ jacket, unlike all the other tunes, and the mystery continues with the lack of time. I believe it runs four minutes. It’s the best song. You have a line: “Sing into my mouth” and I’m dying. Worse, “I love all those kinds of people, you got a place with a view. I’m just an animal…. love me ’til my heart stops, love me ’til I’m dead” well, I’m troubled.

I had my fingers crossed that that was the movie you were talking about! I LOVE that movie! That director is one of my personal heros. …but, then again, I am troubled too! And, really, aren’t we all?!?!?

There are so many great moments in that movie!

  7. Kris replied:

Happy New Year Matty. Wish you enough for this upcoming year..
