HIDE IN THE MUSIC

thoughts too scattered for this movie and it is too late for a refund.

i finish my popcorn and leave.

time for a walk to the water to close my eyes and practice the art of breathing.

as per usual someone wants to speak with me. she wants to know where i got my shoes. they are old and beat-up. i bought them from a second hand shop over a year ago. she is amused and asks after my hoodie.

…in no mood to chat. i decide to be bold.

“I’m going to hide in my music now. Have a good day.”

and, i slip in my iPod ear buds. the volume is low to prevent a worsening of the headache that never seems to want to leave. i drift.

“…Oh, what a feeling.”

I often walk with headsets on even if I’m not listening to music. And if someone annoys me, I pretend I don’t hear them :P

I whip out a maxi-pad and excuse myself. Or say that I “have a meeting.” I haven’t tried this one, but I heard about it: tell the other person that you hear a phone ringing and that since it’s not yours, it must be theirs. They’ll get confused and you walk away.

Which movie did you see? I watched That Obscure Object of my Desire last weekend. It was pretty good.

Mr. Diamond! Yes! Aren’t iPod ear buds the best for city living!!!!

Ing! As you know, I tried that tactic once. I learned my lesson! No. Just the iPod for me! That is considered one of the great films of all time! …I thought it was interesting, but it didn’t quite work me over the way I had expected.

    …BELLE DE JOUR — now, there’s a film!

I’m guilty of just going up to random people on the street and talking to them. I think I do it way too much. I would probably ask you about your shoes. Anyway, I hope your headache goes away and you get back to work soon! ( :

Pakipoptart! …don’t ya hate it when wordpress/blogger does that!?!?!? …Yes, I talk to people — too. I think my head was just hurting too much and I wasn’t being very nice.

…but, I still take refuge in the music from time to time.

It’s all right to take refuge! We all need that sometimes, you know. . .

sorry for the feeling that won’t turn astray. and movies beyond YOU?

I had something removed today to be biopsied. And I taught with a band-Aid wondering am I bleeding? Then trotted off to see a band in which I found sheer and painful angst.

there is soothing music, I told myself, and now I know where it be: in your iPod. I completely love listening to the discs you burned for me (or to the tracks you burned for me). Thank you again and again and again.

And I hope and I do pray you feel better soon.
